European leaders call for implementation of Minsk peace accord

Leaders of Russia, France, Germany and Ukraine say they are trying to salvage the Minsk peace agreement as Ukrainian troops continue to withdraw from the city of Debaltseve. The next step is the removal of heavy weaponry from the front lines. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is calling for the deployment of armed peacekeepers although this was not part of the Minsk accords.
