UN peace plan accepted by Syrian government

A new peace plan for Syria now depends on the opposition. On Tuesday the government said it would suspend all military operations in the northern city of Aleppo for six weeks as a trial ceasefire. If successful, it could be extended to other areas of the country. To date, some of the opposition groups have agreed to accept the plan drafted by the UN special envoy, but others haven’t. Many observers consider the plan the best hope for peace.
