John Kerry Fined For Not Shoveling Snow

The Secretary of State was fined $50 for not clearing the sidewalks in front of his Boston residence while he was overseas in Saudi Arabia.

Shoveling snow is one of those not-so-fun aspects of winter storms.

Some neighborhoods require you to do it even if you are John Kerry.

He has been fined $50 for failing to clear the sidewalks outside his Boston home.

Kerry wasn't present for the past week's blizzard, which dumped several feet of snow in the area.

He was in Saudi Arabia with President Barack Obama to attend the funeral of King Abdullah.

The mayor of Boston, Martin Walsh, made it a point to crack down on anyone who left the sidewalks in front of their homes or businesses un-cleared.

That included the Boston Public Library, some public schools and Kerry's Beacon Hill mansion.

Shovelers had been hired to clear the sidewalk, but when they arrived there was yellow hazard tape, which they believed was placed there by the police.
