It’s not only the best that had made to our desk; instead, we even looked out for the worst selling cars of 2014. Before concluding anything, it’s better to see the video itself.
1. Nissan Teana - 15 units
The lack of petrol engines and a very pricey attitude made Teana to sell the least number of cars throughout the year.
2. Toyota Landcruiser - 40 units
After all, for the price of a Landcruiser there are lots of options from Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, BMW and even Volvo. So, why prefer Toyota.
3. Toyota Prado - 51 units
Likely to the Landcruiser, Prado too didn’t manage to pose an exception in the clutches of typical Indian buying perception.
4. Chevrolet Captiva - 63 units
Captiva is the same old story that Chevrolet had continued even after giving it the much needed facelift during 2013.
5. Hyundai Sonata - 97 units
For the reason of degrading sales in the segment, Honda pulled out Accord from India, but still its strong rival Hyundai had frowning that ‘Sonata’ with an only option of petrol.
6. Skoda Yeti - 123 units
Skoda Yeti facelift wished this new compact SUV not to be a strong competitor in the league with regards to the niche upbringing. And it achieved the goal by selling a mere 123 examples.
7. Renault Koleos - 148 units
Renault Koleos is just another name in the SUV category which is striving hard to sell a number of it in the segment above Rs 15 lakh.
8. Ford Endeavour - 222 units
Despite failed attempt to lure buyers, Endevaour’s ‘facelift’ have worked for it, with almost 222 units sold, is the max number against any other in this list.
9. Renault Fluence - 306 units
The past-generation of Fluence blunted the edge of its model-plate. All needed to enhance it are the proper marketing strategy and removal of glitches from cabin.
10. Nissan Evalia - 484 units
Nissan itself is in the dilemma of what turning wring with the Evalia despite giving it a facelift soon after the launch. But the reason couldn’t be figured out. Even fleet owners got disappointed.

Apparently, the year 2014 remained lucrative for categories under Rs 14 lakh. Nowadays, when high maintenance doesn’t go well with buyers of Mercedes, Audi or BMW, then how it could settle here with the not-so premium buys.
Looking down to all of them, the major reason of failure for were their running and maintenance cost, topped by over pricing strategy.
