Catholic archbishop calls for more global resolve to tackle Boko Haram militants

A Catholic Archbishop in Nigeria has accused the West of ignoring the threat of the militant Islamist group Boko Haram.
The comment from Ignatius Kaigama comes after what is thought to be the worst ever massacre by the group: as many as 2,000 people were killed on January the 3rd in northern Nigeria.
Kaigama says the world has to show more determination to halt the group’s advance, and “show the same spirit and resolve as that expressed after the terrrorist attacks in France”.
There is also worldwide condemnation over reports that Boko Haram used a child of ten-years-old to carry out a suicide bombing in the northeastern city of Maiduguri, killing at least 19 people.
Two female bombers also killed four people and injured many more in another northern town.
Pope Francis has also expressed his concern about the atrocities carried out by Boko Haram, which the Nigerian government is struggling to tackle.
