Mercosur to have unified license plates

The Southern Common Market (Mercosur) has created a unified model of license plates for motor vehicles of the five member countries. Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Venezuela will have the same type of license plates, which will facilitate the exchange of information about the owners, identification of license plates, and brand and model of a vehicle, all of which will help resolve the problem of theft. The new license plates will come into effect in 2016. teleSUR
