A man in Florida is accused of throwing his young daughter off a bridge in St Petersburg. A police spokesperson said a local officer was driving home at around midnight on Thursday when a car caught his attention, as it was traveling roughly 100 miles per hour down the roadway.

The cop turned his lights on and went after the vehicle and soon saw the driver, later identified as 25-year-old John Jonchuck Jr., exit the auto and allegedly throw a little girl over the side of the bridge.

The child, 5-year-old Phoebe Jonchuck, landed in the water; about 62 feet below the bridge railing. John then got back into the car and fled the scene.

About a half hour later, he was pulled over by Manatee County police. Mea
