A recent study shows that donning a pair of high heels may have an unexpected side effect – getting more help from men.

Women wear high heels for all sorts of reasons that run the gamut from wanting to appear taller to just simply loving them.

A recent study shows that donning a pair may have an unexpected side effect – getting more help from men.

Researchers in France learned that males are much more likely to aid a women wearing pumps and the like than they are a female who’s got on a pair of flats.

In two rounds of testing participants asked passers by to complete a survey.

Ladies without elevated heels on their shoes had a tougher time getting men to participate.

A different round involved dropping a glove to see if somebody would come along and pick it up.

Once again, the women in the heels received more male assistance.

Finding out why this is wasn’t part of the study’s scope, but the researchers do have a theory.

As their experiments disproved previously held beliefs like heels adjusting both the perception of foot size and a woman’s gait, they came to a new conclusion.

It’s their belief that the footwear itself has become highly sexualized, and that may give men ideas about the sexual intentions of women who wear them.
