Turkey's main Kurdish party says militants now inside Turkey
  • 9 years ago
An Islamic State fighter emerges from a grain depot in Turkey, near the besieged Syrian border town of Kobani.

That's according to this video released by a monitoring group which tracks the war in neighboring Syria.

The British based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says four suicide bombers attacked Kobani, Saturday, and that a vehicle used as a car bomb had come from Turkey.

This, as Turkey's main Kurdish party, the HDP, accuses the Turkish government of turning a blind eye to the militants on its home soil.

It says Islamic State militants are hiding among the grain depots along the border as a base of operations, even as Turkish security forces patrol the area.

The HDP says the presence of the IS fighters in Turkey is a "scandal" but Turkey has strongly denied supporting the militants.

Meanwhile, Turkish residents continue to closely watch the incessant fighting in Kobani just across the border, where fighters have been attempting to push back
