Syrian rebels fight on two fronts - Islamic State and government

Kurdish fighters join Free Syrian Army forces to battle Islamic State militants in Kobani.

This comes as the U.S. said they have led 17 airstrikes on IS targets in Iraq and Syria since Monday-- including 10 near Kobani.

The town near the Turkish border has taken center state in the fight against IS -- as war rages across Syria.

In other parts of the country, rebels are battling government forces. The video, which can not be independently verified by Reuters, comes as Russian leaders met with Syria's foreign minister in Sochi, in a diplomatic push to restart Syria peace talks.

Russia vowed that it would stand by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in his effort to combat "terrorism."

The last round of talks collapsed in February -- in a war that has already claimed the lives of almost 200,000 people.
