Costa Rica: Border area inhabitants demands right to land

Families who have lived on the same plot of land for generations are demanding that the government provide them with legal title to the property. Inhabitants of the mile long stretch along the norther Costa Rican border are demanding that their right to land be upheld. They want to have legal title to their land so that they can receive public benefits. The legislative assembly has proposed two bills that would allow deeds to these lands to be inherited but not sold. teleSUR
