Companies invest millions to prevent GMO food labeling in US

Over the past 3 years, trans-national companies like Monsanto have invested hundreds of millions of dollars to avoid having to label their products which contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in the United States. Companies that produce GMO products argue that such labels would increase the prices of their products, and they are correct. Many consumers when given the option, choose not to purchase GMO products. GMO labelling has been requisite in the European Union since 2004. teleSUR
