Prince Harry marks Remembrance Sunday in Afghanistan

STORY: Britain's Prince Harry attended a Remembrance Day ceremony on Sunday (November 9) at an army base in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
As the United Kingdom's combat mission in Afghanistan comes to an end this year, Prince Harry and British soldiers gathered at the Kandahar Air Base to pay respects to those who died in the two World Wars and other conflicts.
At 11.00am, International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) personnel and civilians held a service to mark Remembrance Day.
Members of the Afghan National Security Force also attended the ceremony.
Musicians from the Royal Artillery Band played the Last Post and soldiers sang the hymn 'I Vow to Thee My Country'.
The traditional two-minutes silence was also observed.
Prince Harry laid a wreath of poppies at a memorial, leaving a hand-written note which reads, 'There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends. They will never be forgotten.'
