Disturbing video footage has been released of an attack that occurred inside a Minnesota hospital. Nurses had been sitting at their desks, handling the administrative aspect of the job when suddenly an armed patient ran towards them.

Nurses had been sitting at their desks, handling the administrative aspect of the job when suddenly an armed patient ran towards them.

The suspect, identified as 68-year-old Charles Logan was holding a metal bar that he removed from his bed frame. Staffers were quick to spot Logan running into the nurses’ station.

They jumped out of their seats as he brought the weapon down towards them. The nurses fled towards the exit but Logan was right behind them and he continued swinging the metal bar.

Four nurses were assaulted, one of whom suffered from a collapsed lung. By the time police arrived at the hospital Logan had already left.

Officers located him a few blocks away. They tried to use a taser on him, but they were unsuccessful in shocking him.

They brought Logan to the ground and placed handcuffs on him, but his body went limp. He was pronounced dead at the hospital not long after the arrest.

An investigation is underway to determine Logan’s cause of death.
