Mel Bochner: Going out of Business! at Simon Lee Gallery London

Going out of Business! (and other recent paintings on velvet) at Simon Lee Gallery in London is Mel Bochner’s first solo exhibition with the gallery. The show consists of a new body of word paintings on velvet. Mel Bochner began making paintings on velvet in 2005, after he had discovered, that velvet didn’t absorb the paint like other unprimed textiles.
