Daredevil makes death-defying tightrope walk blindfolded over Chicago

The daredevil King of the Wire has done it again. Nik Wallenda has made two record hair-raising walks between skyscrapers in Chicago, one of them blindfolded.

And, incredibly, there was no safety net or harness.

Wallenda told reporters: “You know what, you probably saw me shaking like a leaf. That wire was shaking underneath me and, you know, I just wanted to make it to the other side. I wasn’t going to think twice, I was getting on the wire – I’m going.”

Wallenda broke two world records: the highest tighrope walk blindfolded and the biggest incline.

The 35-year-old was the first person to cross the Grand Canyon on a high wire in 2013.

He hails from a travelling circus family and his great-grandfather died during a tightrope walk in 1978.
