People must avoid ascribing equals to Allah when they love

Adnan Oktar: People must avoid ascribing equals to God when they love someone. Because there is a huge tendency among people to attribute beauty to that person. For example, Zuleyha tells the Prophet Joseph how lovely his eyes are.

The prophet Joseph tells her his eyes will pour onto the ground. She says his nose is attractive, and he says that his nose will rot away. What was the point of those words? To remind Zuleyha of God. To remind her of His eternal beauty. He says it to make her believe, and to protect her from ascribing equals to Him. He feels the presence of polytheism in her words. He wants to protect her from polytheism.

You all are indeed very beautiful, but is it easy to ascribe equals to God, may He forbid. It is unpleasing to God to attribute beauty to someone independently of God, to regard them as having an independent beauty.

Because it is a lie, and untrue. God creates that beauty. God causes one to love. God bestows the feeling of loving.

Otherwise, how could one acquire the feeling of passionate love? Human beings are feeble entities. Even if one has that depth [of remembering God], it would be impossible for the other person to have it, too [if that one ascribes equals to God]. How can you delight in passion? One must be on one’s guard against ascribing equals to God. Because ascribing equals to Him is something easy to forget.
