Bananarama - A Trick of the Night - B&W
This video was directed by Paul Hiney (hope that is how you spell his name) who was a presenter on a BBC programme called "In at the Deep End" where he and Chris Searle would take it in turns to do something from scratch.
The thing was that the girls didn't like it and they re-shot it and used the version of the song that appeared on the "True Confessions" album. Poor Keren was pregnant at the time and it sounds like things were a bit stressful for the girls on the video shoot.
The video and the mix seemed to be consigned to history.
The thing is I LOVE THIS VIDEO, probably it is due to the fact that I discovered the girls through it! I LOVE THE MIX too!
I found this vid a few months ago and couldn't beleive it! I had forgotton how good the mix was and it is amazing to see something after 20 years and how one's perceptions have changed! BUT I STILL LOVE IT!
When the girls re-released their first 6 studio albums with extra tracks, I just couldn't believe that a very slightly remixed version of the song was one of thoes included. As it is shorter than the single version that they did use in the end, when they came to re-release their Greatest Hits and More, More, More, they must have run out of time on the disc so they used this one (or somethig like that!) But WHO CARES WHY - I HAVE WAITED 20 YEARS FOR THIS TRACK!
