This video inspired me to learn about neurobiology and eventually was one of the inspirations that led me to build neural network based robots. The video is nearly 20 years old, and the technology is quite dated by today's standards, but back then, it was cutting edge. A lot of the pioneering work done by Misha Mahowald, Carver Mead, and their colleagues have directly evolved into the technologies that make modern day digital cameras and vision systems possible!
