Having tripled their bombing rate over the past two days, U.S.-led coalition jets are reportedly slowing the advance of Islamic State fighters in the the Syrian border town of Kobani, and allowing Kurdish fighters on the ground to retake territory.

A monitoring group says that more than 30 Islamic state militants were killed in strikes this week.

And video uploaded to a social media website, appears to show the latest spoils.

This Kurdish YPG fighter says the group captured these weapons from Islamic State.

Elsewhere in Kobani, Free Syrian Army fighters are shown hauling away bodies said to be IS militants.

Islamic State has already seized large amounts of territory in Syria and Iraq.
