At least 10 injured as migrants scale barrier in Spain

STORY: Around 300 Africans seeking to enter Europe made a coordinated assault on the triple barrier that divides Spanish enclave Melilla from Morocco early on Wednesday (October 15), with about a hundred of them sitting on it for hours.
This is the latest in several mass attempts to scale the wall in recent months, and according to local officials five immigrants and five civil guards were injured.
Spain has two enclaves in Morocco - Ceuta and Melilla.
Last year, 4,235 immigrants crossed from Africa into the two territories by swimming along the coastline, climbing the barrier or hiding in vehicles. This figure is a 48.5 per cent increase from 2012 figures, when 2,841 immigrants arrived in the Spanish enclaves.
Many of the migrants enter Melilla - where Spain reinforced the perimeter wall a few years ago - with no documentation.
