Knightley and Cumberbatch open London Film Festival

Stars of 'The Imitation Game', including Keira Knightley and Benedict Cumberbatch, walked the red carpet on Wednesday (October 08) at the opening night of the BFI London Films Festival.

The film premiered amid increasing Oscar buzz, as the movie about a troubled math genius and wartime codebreaker has earned strong reviews.

Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell are among the other A-list stars expected to make an appearance at the festival.

Actor Robert De Niro was honored by the Friars Club in New York on Tuesday (October 7) night. The group celebrated De Niro with its highest honor, the Entertainment Icon Award, for his work in Hollywood.

While accepting his trophy the actor dedicated his award to Robin Williams.

Motown legends Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Sting provided the night's entertainment.
