ATMs are often the target for criminals. Surveillance footage captured the brazen theft of a cash machine in Norfolk, UK.
The ATM was located at the University of East Anglia base. The suspects pulled a vehicle up in front of the building and opened the hatchback before walking inside the structure.
One of the males dragged a tow rope and secured it to the machine. The other end of the rope was attached to the Mercedes.
After it was firmly tied, the men got back into the vehicle. The driver abruptly hit the gas, forcefully pulling the machine towards the exit.
The ATM flew into the air before it crashed through the glass doors. At that point, the men went back inside to pull it completely out of the building.
Reportedly the ATM contained more than 16 thousand dollars. Three men were arrested in connection to the crime.
A 38-year-old male, John Eli Loveridge, his adult son, 19-year-old John Stanley Loveridge and 34-year-old Leonard Smith were arrested, and are said to also be behind a number of residential break-ins and ATM raids.
They have all been sentenced to 14 years behind bars.
