Busan International Film Festival opens in South Korea

STORY: The 19th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), one of Asia's largest film events, opened on Thursday (October 2) in the port city Busan, South Korea, where more than 5,000 filmmakers, entertainers and film fans gathered for an opening ceremony of the ten-day film festival, founded in 1996. Japanese actor Watanabe Ken hosted the festival's opening ceremony with South Korean actress Moon Sori - he's the third foreign guest to open the festival following Chinese actress Tang Wei and Hong Kong actor Aron Kwok. Taiwanese director Doze Chen-Zer Niu's "Paradise in Service" opened this year's BIFF, which will run until next Saturday (October 11), featuring 312 films from 79 countries including 132 world premieres.
