As a way of shaming its citizens, the Leicestershire police department has released a mix of the worst 999 calls they’ve received this year. Superintendent Adam Streets says “we want the public to think very carefully before dialing 999. This is for genuine emergencies only and it is extremely important that my call handlers aren’t tied up dealing with calls like the ones we have highlighted.” I mean, it also certainly helps that the calls are hilarious.
