Mike Sorrentino, who previously starred on ‘Jersey Shore’ allegedly failed to pay taxes on nearly 9 million dollars in income.

United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey Paul J. Fishman has announced that both Mike and his brother Marc were indicted on charges including filing false tax returns between 2010 and 2012 and conspiracy to commit fraud. Mike also faces a charge of failure to file a return for 2011, a year in which he reportedly made $1.95 million.

Fishman commented “The brothers allegedly also claimed costly clothes and cars as business expenses and funneled company money into personal accounts. The law is absolutely clear: telling the truth to the IRS is not optional.”

Fishman also said the pair’s tax returns wrongly reported the income made from appearances and promotions.

The siblings reportedly control two firms - Situation Nation Inc and MPS Entertainment, LLC. They are accused of conspiring to forgo paying federal taxes on the money earned from both companies.

The duo is said to have purchased personal luxury vehicles and clothes, only to write them off as business expenses.

At Wednesday’s court indictment, Mike’s lawyer entered a not guilty plea and he was released on a quarter million dollar bond.
