In a town in the interior of Argentina, "the country of barbecues", people linked to the cattle industry start to disappear. Some peasants talk about an economic war between farmers and ranchers. A journalist who is going through a bad time in her career arrives in the town by chance and decides to research with her own means trying to find "the news of the year". Soon she meets several suspects who belong to a group of vegetarian activists. One of them is a psychokiller.
