Moong Dal is very popular amongst Sindhis. It is light, healthy and delicious. Veena Gidwani takes us through an easy recipe on how to make Yellow Moong Dal (Yellow Lentils).

1 cup yellow moong dal, soaked for 20 minutes
1 and a half inch ginger finely chopped
2 green chillies finely chopped
1 and a half cup of water
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 medium sized tomato grated
few coriander leaves
Juice of half a lemon
8 to 10 curry leaves
1/4 tsp Hing powder (asafoetida)
1/2 tsp Jeera (Cuminseeds)
3-4 tbsps of oil
salt to taste
