A bomb blast at a fast-food restaurant in Chile's capital city Santiago injures at least eight people Monday when an explosive device was detonated in a shopping area.

Police believe two suspects who planted the device escaped in a car.

Officials are calling it a quote terrorist attack.

(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) CHILEAN INTERIOR MINISTER, RODRGIO PENADILLO, SAYING:

"We energetically condemn this terrorist attack that took place at the Military School subway stop. This grave act means the government must respond with force in the manner it chooses."

No one is claiming responsibility for the attack.
