Singer Chris Brown pleads guilty to Washington assault charge

Grammy-winning R&B singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge in Washington.
The charge stems from a sidewalk scuffle with a fan last year.
The District of Columbia Superior Court sentenced Brown to time served in jail and ordered him to pay $150 in court costs.
Brown's attorney, Danny Oronato, says his client is ready to move on.

"I think Mr. Brown is pleased with the outcome. We think it's fair. It helps him get on with his life. As you know, Mr. Brown is a recording artist. He has a new album coming out and he wants to focus on his career, doing well and completing his probation in California."
Brown was released in June from a Los Angeles jail after serving a one-year sentence for violating probation following his 2009 assault of pop singer Rihanna.
