Robotic Fish May Clean Clothes In Future Washing Machines

A South Korean industrial designer has come up with a radical idea for doing laundry and it involves robotic fish. The clothes-washing masterpiece was designed for home appliance company, Electrolux.
Not too many people look forward to lugging around a big bucket of clothes and loading up a washer. However the task may become a lot more entertaining in the future.
A South Korean industrial designer has come up with a radical idea for doing laundry and it involves robotic fish. The clothes-washing masterpiece was designed for home appliance company, Electrolux.
The system incorporates a three-legged stand that holds a modern looking tank. Inside the clear container is a group of robotic fish called Dofi.
Thanks to mounted sensors, the fish are able to detect debris and grime on clothes. Once they zero in on the dirt, suction devices on the mouths of the robots work against the filth particles.
An alkaline liquid jelly would then absorb and split dirt molecules of fiber. In addition, the jelly prevents the oxidation and discoloration of textiles, meaning users don’t have to worry about their clothes getting ruined while using the system.
No detergent is used in the process and secondary washing cycles aren't needed, as the device spin dries and drains excess water. As a bonus, consumers will be able to watch as the robot fish clean their garments.
