SCRIPT
Contestants wrestled each other in a gigantic pool of gravy to raise money for East Lancashire Hospice, in Stacksteads village, Monday.
A group of 16 competitors battled it out in 1,500 litres of meaty sauce, wrestling each other two minutes at a time at the Rose n Bowl pub. The audience huddled around the pool watching culinary competitors donning fancy dress grapple each other in the gloopy sauce which was provided by the Lancashire Gravy company.
Now in its sixth year, the event raised around £3,000 (€3769) for the hospice.
