Dunya News - JIT Report: Shahbaz Sharif not responsible for Model Town Incident

Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Report has been published today (Monday). According to the report, the inquiry commission has not held Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif responsible for Model Town Incident.
JIT constituted of members from Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI), Special Branch, Police, Civil Intelligence Agency (CIA), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Police.
The report says that police did not follow the proper procedure of reporting and investigation and removed all the forensic evidence before submitting the report. The inquiry report submitted by Police on Model Town Incident contains the details of the events that occurred on the day of incident only.
Intelligence agencies did not mention CM Punjab or his role in the Model Town Incident. The investigations on the incident are still underway.
The inquiry commission was constituted in order to investigate the Model Town Incident that took place on June 17, 2014. Punjab Police went to remove the barriers placed outside Minhajul Quran International (MQI) Secretariat in Model Town. The workers of MQI resisted the move which led to a deadly clash leaving 14 Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers dead and several injured.
