A hair stylist in Manhattan goes above and beyond to make sure underprivileged folks feel a little better about themselves. Mark Bustos spends his days off from the high-end salon called Three Squares Studio giving free haircuts to the homeless.

Bustos roams the streets with his scissors and clippers talking to poor locals and asking if they need a trim. He’s been doing it since 2012 but has only recently started sharing the photos of his good deeds on social media.

In an email to 'Today', Bustos explained “There is so much negativity in this world today and I just simply wanted to bring some positive energy and hope into this world.”

Nearly 2 and a half years ago, Bustos traveled to his family’s native Philippines where he rented a barber’s chair to offer cuts to underprivileged children. The reactions he got from kids prompted him to continue the good deed on the streets of New York City.

The smiles and looks of promise in the eyes of the homeless over here is the same and its something that makes Bustos continue cutting and trimming free of charge. Bustos hopes the haircuts will give homeless folks confidence and subtly prompt them to make a huge life change.

When hitting the streets, Bustos dresses down to fit in and walks right up to a person in need. The first thing out of his mouth is ‘I want to do something nice for you today’.
