It’s believed that a Google Street View car ran over a dog. The most compelling evidence pointing to the mapping team is a series of images taken by their own vehicle.

It’s believed that a Google Street View car ran over a dog. The most compelling evidence pointing to the mapping team is a series of images taken by their own vehicle.

Google’s vehicle was roving a suburban Chilean town at the time of the suspected accident.

The first picture in the incriminating array shows a dog darting across the street, which is followed by a shot of blurred pavement.

In a third shot, taken from the car’s rear camera, the dog is clearly seen sprawled on the side of the road.

Also in the frame is a person near a parked car looking at the animal in the road in a way that suggests something terrible happened.

There’s another view that offers hope that the dog survived, as it seems to have moved a bit since the apparent strike.

That hope, however, is dashed in the final photo in the sequence. It’s a view from farther away and in it the canine remains motionless on the pavement.

Google has been made aware of the situation and says they are reviewing the photos.
