A pair of newly-born crane chicks are getting used to their surroundings at the Chester Zoo.
The West African black-crowed baby cranes are the first of their kind to hatch in a UK zoo this year. The cute chicks hatched last month and have been in incubation for a period of thirty days. They've taken their first tentative steps with their watchful mom by their side. The crane chicks are small, yellow and fluffy for now but will later develop golden feathers on top of their heads. Cranes are already known for their elaborate dances and these young chicks are already showing off some moves.
