County fairs boast a long list of activities and attractions, but unfortunately poor weather has a way of taking the fun right out of all that good stuff.

Those who were in attendance at the Montana county fair recently encountered a bad storm. Australian rock artist Rick Springfield was there, hoping to play for fans, however mother nature had other things in store.

Springfield took it in stride and busted out his camera to record the storm. The wind sent one concert tent flying in the air while a number of others were blown over.

Springfield later posted about additional damage on his Facebook page. There he noted “My amp and a couple of guitars are toast. So much for playing outdoor gigs in tornado country!”

While there was speculation about a possible tornado in the area given the hearty winds and sinister-looking grey skies, meteorologists have confirmed that was not the case. The storm did feature lightning followed by rain and very strong winds.

One of the gusts was measured at 64 miles per hour. Fortunately nobody was seriously injured as a result.
