Police in Garden Grove, California are warning locals to exert caution if strangers arrive at their doors following two terrifying home invasions.

The first incident occurred on Monday afternoon in a local residential neighborhood. A suspect appeared at the door holding flowers.

He asked the residents for a signature and then forced his way into the house along with two other accomplices who held the occupants at gunpoint. The three victims were tied up and taken to the bathroom while the house was ransacked.

None of the home’s occupants were hurt. Two days later and two miles away, the suspects struck again.

This time, they were carrying balloons. Unfortunately the residents left the garage door open and that made it easier for the thieves to get inside.

The intruders zip-tied three adults and two kids and pushed them into a closet while they went through the personal property. Again, no victims were harmed, but the suspects did threaten to return.

Both crimes occurred in broad daylight. Police are searching for three, possibly four suspects.

In the meantime, Lt. Jeff Nightengale says “If you see somebody coming to your door and you’re at all suspicious and not really sure what their intentions are, please call 911, do not open the door.”
