More migrants attempt to enter Spanish enclave

A further 600 migrants have attempted to jump a border fence protecting a Spanish enclave in north Africa.

They follow another 600 who attempted to cross the border the previous day.

Although none of them managed to enter Melilla from Morocco, reports say dozens perched on top of the fence for most of the day.

In recent days, more than a thousand migrants have made it into mainland Spain by boat.

Coastguards rescued more than 120 boats, blaming good weather conditions for the large numbers of migrants attempting the journey.
