A mom in North Carolina was shocked to discover a Nazi symbol etched into the bun of a chicken sandwich she had purchased from a McDonald’s located in Morehead City. Charleigh Matice ordered her meal from the drive-thru.
She opened up the sandwich to put mayonnaise on it and that’s when she saw the swastika etched into the bread with butter. The anti-Semitic symbol, commonly known as the swastika was used by the Nazi party during the Holocaust.
Matice was very upset when she saw the symbol. Her own grandfather had fought in World War II.
She stated “Many people died because of that symbol and it’s not something that should be taken lightly. It’s not something that should be thrown around.”
She brought the sandwich back inside the restaurant and received her money back. The owner of the Morehead City McDonald’s franchise has apologized for the incident and said the employee responsible for leaving the Nazi symbol impression in the bun has been fired.
