Coimbatore hosted the second round of the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship 2014 from July 11 to 13. 36 rally drivers and their co-drivers drove in the harsh terrain, through two main stagesLMW Road (26.10 km) and the Mettupalayam Road (12.65 km). The entire rally covered 360 km of which 120 km were part of a super special stage on the Kari Speedway track. The championship includes six stages. While the first stage and the second stage held in Nasik and Coimbatore respectivley, the remaining four stages will be held at Chennai, Bangalore, Calcutta and Chikmagalur in December. Winners of this championship can participate in international rally championships like the Asia Pacific Rally Championship and World Rally Championship, provided they attract sponsors.
