ISLAMABAD: Thousands of people, including women and children thronged to parks and recreational spots in the twin cities on Wednesday and Thursday to enjoy the Eid festivities.Almost every park received a large number of visitors on the second and third day of Eid. Recreational spots, including Lake View Park, Rawal Dam, Daman-e-Koh, Pir Sohawa, Shakarparian, Chatter Park, Safari Park, Ayub National Park, Nawaz Sharif Park, Roomi Park, Play Land Park, and Jinnah Park were packed as people came out after spending first day of Eidul Fitr with their relatives and friends. Kids were seen taking swings, besides screaming on merry-go-rounds, while the adults were happy to see the smiles on the faces of their children. This year, four Eid holidays were announced by the government from July 29 to August 1, but with Saturday and Sunday weekly offs, people still have two more days for the celebrations.“The first day of Eidul Fitr began with offering the Eid prayers and then we visited our relatives and friends to exchange greetings. Today, we’ve come here to celebrate Eid,” said Nauman, 24, a resident of Committee Chowk, who had come to visit the Rawal Lake View Park. He said that he had come along with his friends in the morning, but decided to stay a little longer to celebrate Eid as the weather was pleasant and encouraging.“I really enjoyed the Eid here as the unmatched beauty of the Rawal Lake Park offers a lot to celebrate,” another visitor said.
