The UN says it could consider the possible shooting down of the Malaysian Airlines Flight MH-17 in east Ukraine as war crime.
The UN rights chief also condemned the reported downing of the passenger plane as a horrendous crime. She’s demanded an independent and impartial investigation into the incident. The West accuses pro-Russian militias of shooting down the aircraft that was carrying nearly three-hundred people. Areas around the plane’s crash site are the main battlefield between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian forces these days. The militias say they've lost control of part of the area. The intensified fighting has also prevented international investigators from reaching the area.
