Cincinnati may soon have a Guinness World Record for salsa dancing. The organizers behind a salsa dancing event report that over 2 thousand people flocked to Fountain Square on July 24th to sway their hips and bust out some moves.

A number of community agencies joined forces to celebrate the Hispanic community and diversity. The area was full of people who didn’t show any fear and danced to their heart’s content.

Procter and Gamble sponsored the event and handed out free Gain T-shirts to those who attended. Everyone had a blast.

Procter and Gamble spokeswoman Barbara Hauser confirmed the so-called ‘Salsa on the Square’ was a success. She pointed out the previous record for the largest gathering of salsa dancers is around 1,600 individuals.

A package containing all the information for the Cincinnati event has been sent to Guinness World Records. Once staffers review and verify the registration forms, videos and photos, the city should officially hold the salsa dancing title.
