The Paleo Festival in Nyon, Switzerland offers six days of music from some of the biggest names on the European festival circuit, including The Black Keys, Thirty Seconds to Mars, M.I.A, and Girls in Hawaii.

Belgian band Girls in Hawaii are back on form after the death of their drummer, Denis Wielemans, who was killed in a car accident in Brussels three years ago. But it’s been a long hard road for them. Their guitarist Daniel Offermann said: “Seriously, two years ago we were not sure we would ever perform again because of what happened. We had a lot of support. A lot of people have been following us from the start and yes it’s very emotional.”

Jared Leto and his band Thirty Seconds To Mars went down well with the crowd, promoting their album “Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams”.

Another highlight was Jake Bugg, whose first two albums have situated him somewhere between Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash.

Karamelo Santo made a guest appearance on the Village du Monde stage, playing their unique mix of reggae and rock, ska and bolero.

The Black Keys were also on stage, making a whistle stop appearance to promote their album Turn Blue.
