PCB Chairman Najam Sethi has told the court that he will not contest the Pakistan Cricket Board elections as the PM had made him the member of board of management committee.

A two-member bench of apex court heard the case pertaining to the appointment of PCB chairman at Lahore registry.

Sethi said he was resigning from the post of chairmanship though the court had restored him.

During the last hearing, the Supreme Court reinstated Najam Sethi as Pakistan Cricket Board’s chairman.

Suspending the new notification, the judge asked as to how the PM can issue an order in contrast to court ruling?

A notification was issued on July 10 that appointed Justice (r) Jamshed Ali Shah as acting PCB chairman while formed an interim setup to hold elections within 30 days.

The Supreme Court also declared the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) constitution and notification illegal.
