BRITISH FAR-RIGHT GROUP "INVADES" LONDON MOSQUE
In this video we see Paul Golding, leader of British far right group "Britain First" confront an elder at Crayford mosque in southeast London about signs labelling separate entrances for women and men. He says the signs are sexist and threatens "You've got one week to take those signs down, otherwise we will". Footage of Sunday`s so called “invasion” has been posted to Facebook, generating lively debate among web users in the UK.
Many have taken to Twitter to condemn the far right group`s actions, to denounce their racism and also the absurdity of their demands. They say the “Britain First” leader seems to have forgotten that separate entrances for men and women are not unique to the Muslim religion, that there are other places and situations with gender segregation.
Paul Golding however does not seem too bothered by the avalanche of criticism, and posted another video online this week to defend the group`s actions. The far right leader says they did not break any laws, and were taking necessary action to put a stop to what he describes as “hate preaching” in the UK. His arguments did little to convince the London police however and he was arrested on Wednesday.
But it doesn’t look like this is going to deter the "Britain First" militants. The far right movement has stated on its website that plans for similar operations are currently underway.
