With Iran's nuclear talks at a decisive crossroads, the BRICS group of emerging powers says Tehran has an inalienable right to a peaceful nuclear program.
The BRICS countries also say there's no alternative to a negotiated solution to the Iranian nuclear issue. The countries, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, made the statement in a declaration adopted at their summit meeting in Brazil's Fortaleza. The support came as Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany are negotiating for a final solution to their dispute over Tehran's nuclear program. The BRICS countries welcomed what they called the positive momentum generated by the talks which they encouraged to continue in order to achieve a comprehensive and long-lasting solution.
