Best idea ever or worst idea ever? Jaguar is bringing virtual reality to the driver's seat with the Jaguar Land Rover's Virtual Windscreen. The interactive, augmented reality display features some helpful elements like highlighted racing lines that show you the best place to brake on curvy roads and virtual cones to keep novice drivers within lane boundaries.
However, Mashable reported that it also features a "ghost car" display where you can race a virtual car on a real road. I'm pretty sure racing real cars on real, public roads is already illegal, so racing a virtual car on a real road is some sort of next level illegal. They'll probably have to create a new law for how illegal that sounds.
The whole thing is just a concept at the moment and will not reach production for at least another 10 years. Maybe drag racing will inexplicably be legal by then.
