Pro-Palestinian supporters gather in New York City Monday to make their voices heard.
The demonstrators protesting against a group of politicians who gathered at City Hall to express their support for Israel and its use of force against Gaza.
SOUNDBITE: CONGRESSMAN ELIOT ENGEL, RANKING MEMBER OF HOUSE FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, SAYING:
"We stand here to say that Democrats and Republicans all across the political spectrum support the U.S.-Israel alliance. And we're here as New Yorkers to say no to terrorism, no to Hamas."
The Israeli ambassador says Israel is ready to use more force if needed.
SOUNDBITE: AMBASSADOR IDO AHARONI, ISRAEL'S CONSUL GENERAL IN NEW YORK, SAYING:
"They're inflicting damage to Israel's tourism and to Israel's trade that could be estimated in the billions."
Police stood nearby as pro-Palestinian protesters tried to disrupt the news conference with chanting.
